Established in 1955
Clements Realtors® in Dallas specializes in property management and leasing. The family-owned business is managed by Sharon Clements. Sharon earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from SMU in 1982 with concentrations in Real Estate and Management Science and Computers. Upon graduation, Sharon became an active agent with the family business, quickly deciding, she wanted to focus on property management and leasing. In 1985, using the business plan she created while at SMU, she significantly expanded the Property Management Division that thrives today. Because of her hands-on accessibility and personal approach, Sharon has many clients that have been with her since she began. This loyalty is a result of Sharon’s reliability and accountability.
Our HistoryClements Realtors® was founded in June of 1955 by brothers John and Dick Clements. The brothers grew up in the East Dallas area, attended Woodrow Wilson High School and Texas A&M University, and then both served in the Army. Being familiar with the community, they opened a small real estate sales office in the Casa View shopping center, building client relationships that led to company growth. Casa View was a new development with hundreds of affordable homes that appealed to veterans that could purchase a home using the G.I. Bill, which allowed non-qualifying, assumable loans. When these homes came up for resale, Dick and John jumped at the opportunity to purchase these homes as rental properties. They encouraged many of their clients to do the same. In a continued effort to service their clients, they expanded their business to include property management.
The brothers were committed to serving the real estate profession as well as their community. John was President of the Greater Board of Realtors - now MetroTex Association of Realtors. Dick served many years on the Government Affairs Committee at MetroTex, as well as serving on the Board of East Dallas Chamber of Commerce. Dick was PTA President twice at schools attended by daughters Cindy and Sharon. He also served as Chairman of Deacons at First Baptist Church Dallas and chaired various church committees. Because of Dick's involvement in the community, he was lovingly dubbed the 'Mayor of East Dallas'. When well-known Dallas Realtor, Dorothy Prinzhorn decided to retire in 1970, the brothers purchased her agency and expanded into the Lakewood market. It was decided that Dick would manage the newly acquired office. In 1973, Dick's wife, Chloie, who was an experienced Executive Secretary, became the Executive Administrator and trainer to the support staff. In 1983, Dick and Chloie Clements’ youngest daughter, Sharon, joined the family in the business. A recent graduate from SMU with a business degree, Sharon took over the Property Management Division. The company continued to grow in both sales and property management. The expansion included multiple purchases of other East Dallas agencies and the establishment of an office in Winnsboro, Texas, which has since been sold, though the new owners elected to keep the "good name". The company now operates in the beautiful two-story office building at the corner of Mockingbird Lane and Hillside, known as Hillside Plaza. |
